Siena and Chianti

Charming hills with terraced cultivation systems and valleys through which rivers flow constitute the natural environment where the production of one of the best wines in the world has been developed for centuries: Chianti.
Those wishing to appreciate fully the beauty of the territory of Chianti should follow Via Chiantigiana which links Florence and Siena. Along this road you can enjoy a trip among enchanting hills, vineyards, sunflower fields, olive groves, castles. You can then stop in Greve in Chianti, with its ancient market square, Castellina, San Gimignano, until finally reaching Siena, one of the most important cities of art in Italy, and following a characteristic medieval urban plan: surrounded by a walled boundary with gates dating from the fourteenth century.
In the center, you'll find the famous Piazza del Campo, dominated by the Torre del Mangia (Mangia Tower) and the Palazzo Pubblico. The Duomo, or cathedral, attributed to Nicola Pisano, and the Piccolomini Library, with frescoes by Pinturicchio, are not far away.
